Celebrate Summer with New Twists on “Nice Cream”

Hi friends!

I am ONE WEEK away from summer break, and I couldn’t be more excited. Though the weather has been cooler than usual this week, I know the sunshine is coming, so when Shari’s Berries reached out to me about sharing this post, I jumped at the chance. I had heard of the company before (HELLO, chocolate-covered strawberries! Yum!!) but I did not know that their website has a blog filled with fun ideas like this one: 8 Grilled Fruit Ideas for Your Summer BBQ! Anyway, there’s nothing better for a hot afternoon than a cold treat, and banana “nice cream” is my FAVORITE way to treat myself while sticking to a healthy lifestyle. The recipes below are super creative and look SO GOOD. I hope you enjoy!

How To Make Nice Cream

Known for its light but creamy texture, nice cream is a great option to satisfy your sweet tooth during the warmer months. Use food processor or high-powered blender to mix frozen bananas and other tasty ingredients!

Step 1: Peel overripe bananas. Cut into slices and freeze.

Step 2: After bananas are fully frozen, put them in a food processor or high-powered blender. If you’re using a blender and your bananas are not fully breaking down, add a ¼ cup of your choice of liquid, such as almond milk or cashew milk, to help blend.

Step 3: Gradually add in flavors such as cocoa powder or peanut butter to create your desired sweet treat!

Step 4: Serve immediately or freeze for 30-60 minutes for a thicker consistency.

Nice Cream Ingredient & Topping Ideas

Whether you prefer your dessert rich or fruity, the opportunities are endless when it comes to nice cream. Start with frozen bananas as your base and add in tangy or sweet flavors to take your healthy treat to the next level! Combine smooth flavors such as chocolate, peppermint and peanut butter into their own mouth-watering creations or mix them with a sweet fruit like mango, strawberries or blueberries for a tropical twist!

When it comes to finishing off your homemade treat, don’t forget to top it off with something special! Sprinkles, chocolate chips, berries and nuts are a great way to add some extra flavor and texture. If you’re looking to add a little more sweetness to your concoction, add a drizzle of chocolate sauce or a dollop of whipped cream to give it the look and feel of a sundae.
